Powerful and Mighty

As I was reading the article “Dwight Edwards Struggle- Lessons to be Learned by Larry Crabb” I started to think about how sin can sometimes feel so much better the doing the right thing. Think about how doing the wrong thing can feel so good as compared to the other alternative, the so called “Christian path.” Lost people follow this trend all the time; they rather have temporary self gratification then do the right thing. The article was focused on a preacher that fell into temptation. This has become a common story. Of course we all fail but the teachers of God’s word are scrutinized more than the everyday person. Something that stuck out to me in the article was that he said that his sin made him feel alive, free, connected and wanted. We should feel that way in the arms of Christ, so how can it be that a person can feel that way about a sinful act. Sin is so powerful and we shouldn’t underestimate it. It can turn the greatest man into someone who is apathetic about something that he has done that is not for the glory of God. We need to fight off sin in our lives, we can’t let it consume us and lead us feeling alive, free or even wanted. Knowing God and following his will is life. Life is not about all our possessions or all the friends that we have made. “Living to feel alive is not the same as living to know and glorify God. “ Live to know Christ better and to follow his will for your life.
